Relationships

A group that knows each other’s function works differently

For home groups, groups of friends or small teams who want to get to know each other’s gifts — and want to understand why the group does what it does.

In every small group its own dynamic emerges: one person automatically takes the lead in conversation, one facilitates, one is always the doubter, one arranges the practical things. Often this happens unconsciously — sometimes at the expense of whoever does not take that spot. JANE for groups helps you learn to recognise each other’s functions, so everyone can fill their spot consciously.

Does this sound familiar?

  • You notice the same patterns keep occurring in your conversations.
  • One or two people carry a disproportionate amount, while others remain untapped.
  • You want to be more than a sociable group — a group with function.
  • You’ve known each other for longer than a few months, and are now looking for depth.

What Jane® does for you

A three-step mini-workshop.

In one or two gatherings you go through a shortened version of the Jane method together.

Group diagram.

The result is a visual diagram that shows all functions of all participants together — handy for seeing what makes the group strong as a whole.

Conversation assignments for within the group.

Simple assignments that you can keep using yourselves to interact with each other more consciously.

This fits you if…

  • You are a fixed group of 5–10 people.
  • You have known each other for at least several months.
  • You want depth, not just a first introduction.

Less suitable if…

  • You have only just started as a group — wait 6 months.
  • There is acute tension within the group — resolve that first.

The method behind this journey

The group offering is an addition to the individual JANE programmes, developed at the request of home groups within, among others, the Familiekerk De Fakkel and Vision for Life participants.

Frequently asked questions

Is everyone required to take part?

We advise that all regular members take part — otherwise a skewed dynamic arises. When in doubt: come first with an introductory conversation.

Does this cost per person or for the whole group?

For the whole group. The rate is independent of group size within 5–10 people.

Does this also work for non-Christian groups?

Yes, the spiritual layer is included or left out according to the group’s wishes.

A final step

A group is more than its members. Schedule a mini-workshop for your group and discover what the composition actually is.
